The countdown has begun….only five weeks until the school term ends; thankfully Wyeside have organised a series of family friendly activities. From a sleepover at Wyeside, drama galore and free cinema tickets as well as children’s films showing throughout the summer holidays, we have just what you need to keep your little ones occupied.

Experienced drama practitioner Debbie Peck will be running a week of drama workshops, bringing the stories of Peter Pan and a Bear Hunt to life.

For children aged 4 -6 the fun drama sessions will help them to develop confidence, teamwork, movement and performance skills to bring the classic tale ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ to life. There will also be the opportunity to explore lighting and sound in the theatre.

Mums, dads or guardians are welcome to stay and have coffee and biscuits in the gallery.

The sessions run from Monday 26 July – Friday 30th July, 11am – 12pm and the cost is only £20 for the week.

For older children a voyage through the swashbuckling adventure Peter Pan. Using Drama techniques children will develop their performance skills whilst having fun. They will also have an introduction to the technical side of theatre.

Suitable for ages 7-11, the sessions at Wyeside are from Monday 26 July – Friday 30th July, 2pm – 4pm for just £25 for the week.

There will be performances of both pieces on Friday 30th July at 4.30pm.

Wyeside are hosting our first ‘sleepover’ on Tuesday 27^th July. We are inviting children to come and see the much anticipated Toy Story 3 and make a night of it, enjoy the film and sleepover in the cinema!

Open to ages 8 – 12 there are limited places available and the package includes a cinema ticket, a ‘midnight’ snack, the sleepover (lead youth workers are CRB checked,) breakfast and an animation workshop on the morning of Wednesday 28^th for only £20 per child.
